When PacificHDS was asked how tall a building could be scanned we said, "What color is it?" 3D laser scanning is capturing coordinates by use of a laser which is color sensitive. So a black, high-gloss building (or car, etc.) probably wouldn't return any data, the laser light would be absorbed. When scanning the lighter colors of the spectrum the return is impressive. This building shown above is over 25 stories and because of its color, the scanner captured all of it from the ground.
At PacificHDS our we strive to bring you the best quality information so that your project can begin with confidence.
